This sounds so dumb in so many ways. Racism towards whites is no better than racism towards blacks and other cultures. It’s going to be an on going cycle that will never end. These white girls that get hennas and wear bindi’s are entitled to do as they please and they are not held responsible for what other people from that are the same ethnicity as them do/say. What’s wrong with wanting to embrace traditions from another culture ? Shouldn’t that be a good thing? People should be glad that people especially whites are open to embracing parts of other cultures, it shows acceptance.

^ I really hope this is like a joke or something because this is the most embarrassing display of ignorance I have ever seen in my life holy shit lmfao

Lmfao aint there always somebody

Except that she was literally speaking the truth but whatever.

thought you meant Lara in the screencap, until I saw your tags. don’t put things in your tags people, especially if they’re legitimate arguments like “racists tend to stay away from other cultures’ stuff”.
also in addition, people TODAY didn’t wanna wipe out anyone, people in the past did. if we could hold historical grudges, there would be so much genocide going on all over the globe.

Sorry, at the time I reblogged this, I wasn’t in the mood to possibly start a fight, but seeing as my comment has caused confusion, I will elaborate. The first response is completely right. Everything she says is what anyone with an ounce of human decency knows to be true. Perpetuating racism will continue a vicious cycle of hate that will never end. It is exhausting and will blind you to true equality.
In regards to the bindi argument, after listening to cosmopolitanchick talk about it, I’ve learned much regarding bindis. Namely that they are worn as fashion by women in India. They even sell little stick-on ones for cheap to tourists because they know they’ll buy them. Is a tourist not allowed to wear what they have been sold? Would that not be offensive to the seller?
Also, like I said in my tags, racists who want to destroy an entire people would not touch bindis. They won’t touch anything associated with the culture they see as inferior to them.
Finally, I have to disagree with feathery-dreamer's last comment about people not wanting to wipe out anyone today. That is unfortunately untrue. There are entire religious factions who wish to exterminate people of their own race simply because they are of a different sect of belief. Genocides are still occurring and people are still wishing to exterminate others. However, those types of people are not the types of people that would wish to take part in a cultural exchange they found beautiful. They'd be the types to take a bindi and crush it and the rest underfoot.

yes yes yes all of this
